I wanted to share these collages of some/most of the items I sewed up in 2014. I know there are a few testers missing from this, as the ones I found edited pics of are the ones I had had time to edit and share or post about. I didn’t feel like wading through the thousands of unedited pics, so a bunch of other testers are missing, ha. And there are even some that I know are edited and were posted about that are missing too!
It’s crazy to see how much Baby V has grown. I was feeling a little nostalgic going through these. If I had been a bit more ambitious I would have organized the collages by date and the changes might have been more noticeable.
And that’s my little sewing recap!
Also not pictured are all the ornaments, aprons and mini purses I made for the craft fair last month, and a few other random things, easily adding another 40-50 items to the list.
I joined a group on Facebook called the 100 Items Sewing Challenge which basically has as it’s goal to sew up 100 items using fabric from my stash before I can purchase more fabric. (Coordinate fabric and notions are allowed). You’re allowed to count UFO’s/WIPs towards your 100 items, but they’re a little bit strict about it. If it’s a small project, then you’re supposed to combine a few projects to count as 1 item sewn. (I would probably count 10 -2″ star ornaments as one item).
I’m also in another group on Facebook which is challenging participants to sew some of the patterns in their stash this year. This one isn’t so strict, you’re allowed to still purchase new patterns and sew from old patterns, but the emphasis is on sewing at least one pattern purchased in the past that has never been sewn. If all goes well, I’ll be saving lots of money, between the no fabric and no patterns 😛
The Facebook group can be found here if you want to join. There are themes, which you can follow, or not, but I found it helpful to plan which patterns I wanted to do.
I was worried about not being able to reach the 100 items sewn goal, but I have about 80 items pictured, so I think I should make it. Baby V is starting to get back into her normal sleeping habits, after going through a bout of teething and bad colds, so hopefully I’ll get some sewing done in the next few days. BUT I’m going back to work part-time soon, and thinking of taking some classes too, so we’ll see.
Wish me luck in not purchasing any patterns until I’ve sewn at least 12 old (but never sewn) ones!
So many cute items. Maybe this year I will take pictures of everything I’ve made so at the end of the year I will be able to look back like that.
I also asked to join the two facebook groups. What a great idea that! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! It’s fun to look back, especially for me to see how much my girls have grown and how much better I’ve gotten at sewing clothing.
I’ll be looking forward to seeing your round up next year!
