Happy anniversary EYMM! Two years and 43 (paid) patterns! Wow! Today I’m showing off the Carlie* I made. I chose to make this pattern specifically because my daughter owns a RTW dolman top that suits her so well.
Carlie’s Dolman top pattern has a few different options: banded hem, hi-low hem, straight hem, or a crop top. I decided to sew the banded hem version in the 5/6 size. I didn’t do any alterations to the pattern, I figured she’d eventually have a growth spurt, so it’s a tad long on her now. She told me it was a dress, uh, it’d be ultra mini-skirt length!
This is a fairly quick sew. I like doing banded hems because they’re faster, although you do need to cut more fabric out. I should have made sure I had lined the flowers up but I messed that up. That’s ok, she doesn’t mind.
I like the boat neck too, it’s a bit wide on her but I had her try on her RTW dolman (which also has a boat neck) and it fits exactly the same, ha. It’ll be great for layering, I should try out the layering crop version next.
Check out the other things I’ve made with EYMM patterns: Riley sleepshirt, My Little Superhero bundle, Sasha top, Off the Shoulder top, Kenzie Dress here and here…

FUN fabric!!!!
Your top is cute as is your little sweetie pie! I would love to try the asymmetical his and hers hoodie pattern.
The fabric is so cute for that top and the girls are beauties!
I love the Dolman Top. I don’t have little ones anymore but I would love to make one for me. Have a great day.
Cute shirt! Hoping to win a cardigan pattern!!
Love those flowers, so cute!
I love her shirt! Making things for my kids is my favorite!
Perfect fabric choice for this little shirt! I’ve been looking for a dolman-type shirt since I hate to set in sleeves, especially with knit. Ick! Your daughter is quite photogenic and adorable!
Thank you so much! This shirt is perfect for not having to do sleeves 🙂
That shirt is so cute. Love the colors. I would love to try and make a dolman top or a 4 seasons cardigan.
Very cute top and fun fabric! Your daughter is adorable! 🙂
thank you!
I love EYMM! I just bought Carlie’s Dolman top and I can’t wait to sew it up. I have Kymy’s Dilman top and it is my go to pattern.
Love the flower fabric. It’s good to see how versatile the Dolman pattern is so will have to definitely test it on my daughter too.
I would like the everyday essentials set for myself.
