I’m taking part in the Time {for school} Capsule tour being hosted by Melissa of Rebel & Malice. Silly Bean is starting Kindergarten next month and needs clothes, so I’ve got lots of back to school sewing to do. I’ve chosen the patterns (and printed them out). I’m still finalizing the fabric but I’m getting there!

I’ll only be revealing all the outfits at the beginning of September although a few items I will be making for blog tours or reviews happening this month. I really need to get going on doing all the sewing but I’m going to be spending the next few days just taping patterns together and cutting fabric out.
So what exactly is a capsule? You can head on over to Rebel & Malice and Free Notion for more info on what they are and how to put one together. I’m looking forward to this project, as for the past 5 years Silly’s wardrobe has consisted of a mish mash of hand me downs (from cousins and friends), store bought and handmade. Lot of it doesn’t really go together, and some of it was never worn more than once or twice since some of it didn’t really go with anything! Little Miss V has the same issue now as she’s received all the hand me downs from Silly (but with a bit more handmade thrown in) so I’m going to be purging a bit and being a bit more selective about what goes in her dresser so we’re not overrun with pink tees and yellow leggings. (She looks cute either way). I’m not too sure if I’ll be following the rules exactly when it comes to shoes though. I’m not really a shoe person and once it starts getting super cold in November or so, Silly Bean will be wearing her winter boots pretty much everywhere for about 5 months, and she’ll be keeping a pair of runners at school for indoors. So, not too much point in worrying about shoes for this kid.
I just got this fabric in, and I just might need to add another pattern to my to-do list. I think the dotted fabric, which is double gauze, would make a pretty Tip Top dress!
Oh, Terra’s Treasures has all their patterns marked down 30% in their shop this week. No code needed! If you’re thinking of doing some back to school pattern shopping, now might be the best time to pick up a couple patterns.
Also, Gracious Threads is having a sale August 3 – 29th! Get 25% off all her patterns with code BACK2SCHOOL25 in her Etsy shop! I really want those Lazy Day Lounge pants!
GYCT is also having a back to school sale! Get 25% off with the code BACK2SCHOOL. Click here to their shop! Code is good until August 15th.
I’ll be back later in the week with my final fabric choices. Or next week… It’s summer, I’m in no rush.
