Welcome to another day of the Knock it Off Tour! There are three more bloggers today showcasing their knock off looks. Scroll down to find the links to their posts or hang around with me for a bit and see what outfit I decided to share with you that I hope to be able to sew up my own version of soon.
For today’s ready-to-wear look I pulled an outift for the ladies that I liked on Modcloth.
I’m one those people who feels most comfortable in t-shirt and jeans. Unless I’m going to a wedding, I feel overdressed in a dress or skirt, and never feel super comfortable as I feel like I’m playing dress-up. (Which is strange because when I was little I lived in dresses). So I would most definitely want to dress down the look by pairing a
skirt with a tee like here.
Tiger Lilies Midi Skirt, Let me Italia You This Tee
I’d wear this to work and just hanging out with the kids and hubby. Looks comfy!
I could totally see the skirt paired with a more fitted tee (bodysuit?) and a bomber jacket (or moto jacket) and maybe paired with some Keds (other flat shoe).
Two ready-to-wear (RTW) bomber jackets I like are this one that reminds of the 90s (the one my best friend had back then was black but otherwise nearly identical), and this black one from H&M. I never had one back then but so want one now.
Pattern suggestions to recreate the outfit:
Tee: There are lots of women’s tee patterns out there. I’ve heard good things about Hey June Patterns, Jalie and Halla Patterns among others.
Bodysuit/Fitted Tee: Nettie top/dress from Closet Case Files would be perfect.
Skirt: I found three free tutorials for a similar style. It’s Always Autumn: Pleated Midi, A Pair and A Spare: DIY pleated midi skirt, and Sewing Rabbit: Lace and plaid midi skirt
Bomber jacket: Charlie from Jalie, Cookie from Waffle Patterns (the sleeves have a slight puff to them but otherwise has bomber jacket look to it), Ollie from Sew a Little Seam, and M7100 Misses’ Bomber Jacket from McCalls (raglan sleeved version).
I am so putting this outfit to the top of my to-sew list!
