Stitchwerx Designs Ainsley & Aiden Baby Suite I Blog Tour

Welcome to Day 2 of the Ainsley & Aiden Baby Suite pattern collection by Stitchwerx Designs! There’s a giveaway over on the Stitchwerx blog to win the patterns! Link at the end of the post πŸ™‚

I love sewing for my Baby V, she’s just the cutest baby! (I’m totally biased I know). Plus baby patterns use way less fabric than women ones do, ha.

These were the first Stitchwerx Designs patterns that I’ve sewn up. (Although I already own another but haven’t had a chance to sew it yet but after working on these ones it has gone right to the top of my sewing list!)

Tiddly Wink topper square beanie, Bitty Beetle tee, and the Comfy Caterpillar pants with no cuffs

Stitchwerx patterns are so easy to read. Each main part of the construction is separated into different sections with steps in each section, for example sleeves, side seams, and so on. Which is great for someone like me who gets interrupted frequently, makes it easy to remember where I stopped off. πŸ˜‰

Bitty Beetle tee and Roly Poly pants

There are four patterns included in the Ainsley & Aiden Baby Suite: the Bitty Beetle, which includes the bodysuit, tee and gown; the Comfy Caterpillar knit pants; the Roly Poly pants (which are fully lined); and the Tiddly Wink Toppers, which can be square or rounded. With all the options its really a lot more than 4! The bundle is on sale for a limited time at the price of $18.75 (individually they will be a total of $25) The sale price is good until June 20th after which the patterns will be released individually.

I know we shouldn’t play favourites but my favourite pattern of the bunch is probably the Bitty Beetle. With this one pattern you can make a tee, snap shirt/bodysuit or gown. I love the lap tee neckline, so easy to get on and off. And I love baby gowns! They’re great for babies that like to kick off their blankets. They’re so hard to find in the bigger baby sizes, she outgrew all hers at around 6 months. So I’m happy to make a few more πŸ™‚

Bitty Beetle baby gown, long sleeves with mittens -obviously I didn’t make a coordinated set :p

The Tiddly Wink Toppers can be square (like mine) or round. So cute and cozy. And since it’s lined if you stitch the opening really well it’s technically reversible!

The Comfy Caterpillar pants feature a knit waistband (no elastic) and can either be cuffed or hemmed as shown! (I decided to try a fancy stitch on the hem, lol). These are my favourite style of pants for babies since they’re so easy to move around in.

And last, but not least, are the Roly Poly pants. These can be made in knits or wovens, feature patch pockets on the front and back, and an elastic waistband, and are fully lined. The ones I made are in wovens, but for the next pair I will try lining in knit. They would be great to line in flannel for a winter pair! Super cute, and I know my fabric choice for these are a little crazy but I wanted something in red to go with the shirt!

Baby V is a big baby, she was born big (9lbs 2 oz) and is still on the big size weighing in at 22 lbs at 10 months (big sis only weighs 10 lbs more) and for most PDF patterns she currently fits in the 12 month or 12-18 months size. BUT for this she fit the 9 month! Awesome! That means I get to use these patterns for a little while longer, yay πŸ™‚
