I’m here today sharing with you my version of the Bateau Garden dress pattern by Winter Wear Designs.
I’ve made other patterns from them before. One that I’ve blogged is the Phresh Blazer, that one is super cute too. Read on to see some more photos and get the coupon code to save 20% in their Etsy shop at the bottom of the post!
Miss V is running woefully low on dresses so I figured it was the perfect time to make her a new dress! I purchased this pattern back when it was first released and am only now getting around to making it!
Going by her measurements I sewed up a size 3 as she fell between the 2 and 3. (Her chest measurement is 20.25″). I probably could have gotten away with the size 2 though as the shoulders slip down a bit after lots of twirling (as you can see in the photos below). I really like the tea length for dresses but I figured if she kept growing up and not out it would be tea length on her eventually, ha. So instead I sewed the regular length.
I think it’s sooo cute.
The pattern also comes with instructions to make a petticoat, which would look adorable. When I have a chance I will make her one with maybe a bit of red tulle peeking out the bottom, that would be extra cute!
Fabric: from Fabric.com (purchased three years ago. This project was all stash sewing!)
